Customer Rating: Summary: not very fun Comment: I have the pc version and this game is not very fun. You have silly tasks when all you want to do is get into action. BORING.
Customer Rating: Summary: Activision does it again. Comment: Offal.
This game is a collective of all things bad in gaming. Long tedious repetitve levels, hidden collectible idiot races, stupid objectives all aggregate to form mthis disgusting piece of gaming garbage. Why is it that everything Activtision makes so awful? The one star is for the open world otherwise evrything about htis game SUCKS.
Customer Rating: Summary: Could have been so much better. Fun but lots of bugs. Comment: I got this game from a seller for less than $[...] because of the mediocre reviews. I loved the spider man 2 on PS2 , so I got this one for my PC. I like games like Prince of Persia , God of war and Spider Man which have a lot of crazy moves and acrobatics. After playing the Dark prince in POP, I was eager to play with the Black Suit Spider man. It started off well , I like the action stuff. Lot more Combos and Moves while fighting and swinging. It has interesting mini games like skydiving , races and impressing Mary-Jane Activities...blah blah blah.
Unfortunately , the game started to freeze and overload the computer after some time. I have a 1gb ddr2 memory with 256mb graphics card on my gaming Laptop. I have played Rainbow 6 vegas, COD 4 modern warfare and GRAW Advanced warfighter 2 on my computer with no problems. But this game sucks my computers life after playing for 20 minutes on low graphics setting.
I am happy with the fun element of the game , it's just that the developers should have worked on these bugs , so everyone can play it on their Mid-level computers.
Pro's: Great fun for fans , more moves , combos , activities .
Con's: Freezes after sometime. High system requirements. not made for non gaming computers.
Conclusion: Unless you are a die hard fan of Spider man, have a Super computer with extra powers gained after a radioactive Spider bit it and you are getting it for super cheap, .....it is best to avoid it.
Try the other new ones. Spiderman friend or foe & ultimate spiderman ( I am yet to play those.)
Customer Rating: Summary: Game is entertaining, for a fan at least. Comment: I was never able to collect comic books (or graphic novels, if that is the politically correct term) as a child. However, I did have a few Spider-Man ones and I have generally always had a childlike interest in this marvel (pun intended).
It took me a few days to finally decide to purchase this game because I wasn't sure that it was worth my money. But you know what, it totally was. The primary reason I wanted this installment of the video game adaptation of the movie franchise adaptation of the comic book series was to sense what it would be like to swing high above the streets of New York as Tobey Maguire dressed as Spider-Man. I have got to say that this game can effectively give you that simple sensation, and fulfill a longtime fantasy about the boy from Pleasantville.
Joking aside, the storylines weren't that arousing. The one following the movie did not do its job all that well, and the others we adequate. The problem I had was that the stories just did not have a nice flow (nor much substance). None of them interconnected. Like Mr. Maguire, as Parker, as Spidey, was battling 58794+ different Big Baddies in the same time span without any overlap. This is what a "sandbox game" is suppose to be like; it is non-linear. But considering it is a comic book we are playing, shouldn't it have some of that same issue to issue consistency?
Anywho! The game is nice looking, and I don't run a top-end machine. This, of course, brings me to the next topic that everyone has talked about, which is the system requirements. I barely fit the minimal requirements, and in fact, my laptop could not run it alone. My processor (Centrio Duo 1.66GHz) was just enough, but could not handle the game AND my LCD monitor. So, I had to view the game using my desktop's monitor. With that, it ran nicely enough (some jumps in framerate here and there).
Overall, I enjoyed the game. Yet, the replay value is not that great since swinging around NY gets old after a month. Thus, I have opted to sell my copy here on Amazon. Buy it from me if you will, play the game, beat it, and bring it back to Amazon to sell. Easy as that.
Peace.
Here are my laptop's relevant specs, since games aren't tested for laptops and processor speed can be lower than a desk numerically but still put out as much, that is, as an equivalent.
Processor: Intel Core Duo 1.66GHz
Graphics: ATI Mobility Radeon X1600 with 512MB
RAM: 1 GB
The game ran smooth enough when I used the external monitor instead of my LCD (if I didn't do that, then my computer would overheat and shutdown sporadically during gameplay). The one area in the game that always incurred a framerate collapsed was Central Park, but that area was never needed by me in the game, so I just avoided it.
Customer Rating: Summary: WATCH-OUT! Comment: I HAVE A P-4 3.0 GHZ CPU,2G RAM, A NVIDEA 6600LE 256 MB VIDEO CARD W/3.0 PIXEL SHADERS AND HAD LOTS OF PROBLEMS WITH THIS GAME. IN FACT IT'S SHELVED 'TIL I GET A NEW COMPUTER CAUSE EVEN THOUGH IT SAYS IT'LL WORK ON WIN XP IT DOESN'T WORK WORTH BEANS ON XP---OBVIOUSLY A VISTA GAME ONLY!!!!
